ok im trying to hook up a filter to my live rock growing pond.
i have to submesible pumps..1 to ciculate other to pump to filter..

i picked up some bio ball an bio filter matrial and a air pump..

i thought i would run the tubing into some 6 inch pvc caped at both ends a in an out port.use the filter on the inside filled with bio balls an a little air rock at the bottom.

think this will be ok...would be a poor mans almost protien skimmer filter!

just trying to simplfy some of the diy i have read all over..ill send pics tommorow when its constructed for pointers an ideas

I made a poor mans protein Skimmer out of a 10 gallon power filter.

Protien skimmers are relatively easy to make. The mechanics are simple. I built my own even though I have never owned a protein skimmer so I had no idea how to tune the thing due to the lack of information on that specific detail.

So let’s see some pics, Let’s see what your working with!
