Default Serious Security flaw found in IE

Serious security flaw found in IE
Very Important.......

Users of the world's most common web browser have been advised to switch to a rival until a serious security flaw has been fixed.
The flaw in Microsoft's Internet Explorer could allow criminals to take control of people's computers and steal their passwords, internet experts say.

Microsoft is investigating the problem and preparing an emergency software patch to resolve it, it says.

"Microsoft is continuing its investigation of public reports of attacks against a new vulnerability in Internet Explorer," said the firm in a security advisory alert about the flaw.
Microsoft says it has detected attacks against version seven of the browser - its most widely used edition, But the company warned that other versions were also potentially vulnerable.

As many as 10,000 websites have been compromised since last week to take advantage of the security flow, said antivirus software maker Trend Micro.

The websites have been mostly serving up programs that steal computer game passwords, but the flaw could be "adopted by more financially motivated criminals", a Trend Micro security researcher said on Monday.

Puffer's Take:

This is a major problem for casual users and website/forum owners along with large company websites such as ebay and paypal, and yes, even Fish-Keeper.Com could be affected as can any other website out there,

Put it this way, if Microsoft are recommending website owners not to use Internet Explorer it must be a serious problem, they would never ask people to use rival software!

Below are links for some of the other popular browsers:

Firefox 3, for the official site,
Mozilla's Firefox, This is what I would highly recommend, it is more secure and has more features than internet explorer and also runs most sites (including fish-keeper.com, facebook and ebay) about three times as fast as internet explorer, you also have access to the superb "smart" navigation bar, one click bookmarking and you can also add any of the 1000's of free addons and themes to make firefox your own!

Opera 9, for the official site,
Another good choice of browser, very fast loading speeds but does have some minor viewing problems on some sites (images loading oddly or layout not right), version 9 works fine with fish-keeper.com,

Safari, for the official site,
Apple's web browser, very good but lacking in some of the other browsers features, also still an early version for windows,

Google Chrome, for the official site,
A blatent ripoff of firefox which uses the firefox rendering engine and most of its code, looks nice but still an early version and seems to be used more for promoting googles products,

I wouldn't recommend any Internet Explorer based browsers at the moment, these include maxthon, avant and a few others as they all use the same security engine as internet explorer which is causing the big concerns,
