Default Chatroom Rules & Guide

FlashChat Chatroom Rules:

Please read the following information so you can see the rules for AquariaForum's chatroom.

-Messages that are obscene, vulgar, drug/crime related, sexually-explicit, hateful, threatening, insulting or in any way inflammatory are not allowed. We want to keep the chatroom a fun and friendly place to be.

-A good debate is fine in the chatroom, but flame wars are not allowed what so ever. Keep conversations friendly.

-Do not abuse or bash another member because you don't like him/her or you disagree with him/her. Contact an Administrator or Moderator and they will help you with the situation. Do not take things into your own hands. If you are very annoyed by a certain member, hit the "ignore" button and then contact a staff member if needed.

If any of these rules are violated you will get warned, suspended from the chatroom (for a certain period of days), or banned depending on the severity of the violation.

If you have any concerns, comments, or would simply like to share your feelings about these rules then please feel free to contact an Administrator or Moderator on the forums about them.

NOTE: Please do NOT post concerning these rules in the Comments, Bugs, & Suggestions forum.

Our goal at AquariaForums is to have a friendly and fun chatroom where members can relax, so please follow these simple rules so we can do just that.

FlashChat Chatroom guide:

This is the simple guide to using AquariaForum's FlashChat. FlashChat is a privilege that we allow all Registered Members who's accounts are not suspended to use the chat.

Here are the guidelines and use of the chat; basically an FAQ/help guide.

---> General Things/Options

- Guests cannot chat in the chatroom; a person must be a registered member to chat.

- You may send private messages in the chat room to any user who has not blocked you from contacting them. All you have to do is simply click on their name. You can also minimize the private message.

- You may block people from contacting you by simply clicking on their name and a drop-down box will come and you click "block".

- If you would like to chat in a different room, then on the left hand corner of the chat-room a box that says "options" will bring out Sounds, Add Room, Wallpaper, Text, and Help.
Click on add room and you will have the options to set the room to private, add a password, or create a new public room.
Moderators cannot see the rooms that you set to private, but administrators can. Moderators also cannot access "locked" rooms with a password, but administrators can. Remember all activity you do except Private Messages will be recorded in the Admin Log.

- Members can report you for any offensive behavior that you do in the chat. Depending on the severity of the offense, you could be banned from the chat room forever.

- Setting backgrounds is a cool feature. Simply click on "options" and then click set wall paper. From your computer you may upload a picture for the chatroom background. This will only apply to you.

---> Moderation

- Moderators and Administrators of the chat room have the power to ban you from the chat if you make a mistake or disobey the rules. Moderators can ban, but cannot un-ban; only Administrators have the power to do that.

- Administrators can also un-block the people that you block as well as see the people you ignore. You are not allowed to block any staff members on the chat.

- Moderators and administrators both have a symbol beside their User-Names. For Moderators there is a M, and for Administrators there is an A.

- If you have been banned from the chat, then you will not be able to login to the chat untill your ban is lifted (if it will be lifted ).

Do NOT try to create multiple accounts on the forums to get into the chat, we can see if you do this.

Other:

NOTE: Everything you do on the chat, Wallpaper, New Rooms, Private Messages, Chatting, and Smiles will be cleared once left the chat. All settings will remain the same though.

Thank-you for reading the rules and guide. We hope you enjoy the chatrrom!

~Staff Team
