I had to ask if you had any replies to your question. I am fairly new at this and was curious what the answer is. I was having the same problem with my test, it basically didn't move and I started out with live rock. So I finally bought some cheap damsels and so far no change but I did find out that my alkalinity was way to high, but I thought it was to be at 1.026 according to what I read. Then I finally went to the fish store and asked them to test my water to see if I was off on anything. That's when I found out I was to be at 1.012. Surprising how hardy these damsels can be. Anyway just curious as to what your answer was.
