making activated carbon
Have any of you tried manufacturing your own AC
I have spent most of the morning looking on the web and gleaned quite a bit of info including that the coconut shell and coal versions are crap for use in a marine system
I did read one article suggesting using a 55 gall oil drum but there was not enough info given to give it a try - as I have a five hundred gallon tank it may be worth a try for me
In fact any info regarding carbon would be apreciated
